Bringing clean portable drinking and cooking water to the heart of each village in Malampa Province.

Water is the number one health issue in developing countries according to the World Health Organization web site.

MMRT have been working in Malakula for the past five years. Our first reconnaissance trip was in November 2002.

Initially our mission was to rebuild the medical infrastructure of the Province. We assisted in supplying equipment and medical supplies to Norsup Hospital.

During this time we were advised that the main need was at village level and consisted of improving the availability and access to fresh clean portable water.

After going through a learning curve of the first two years, we came out the other side with a more definitive and realistic goal to set our sites on.

Water is the number one health issue in developing countries according to the World Health Organization web site, www.who.org.

In over 90% of the villages we visited in our first two years we identified a real need for clean portable drinking and cooking water. More »
